STATIONS & TECHNICAL BUILDINGS IN IQUITOS AMAZON RAINFOREST LINE

The project develops several technical buildings and small stations along the new amazon railway line between Iquitos and Yurimaguas. This new line will provide fast and affordable transportation to dozens of communities that live in isolated groups, scattered along Peru’s Amazon rainforest region. These communities produce handmade goods and fresh products. Nowadays the transport of these products to the cities is made by small boats with great inconveniences and delays. The whole railway project has a social and environmental spirit. The small stations themselves are low cost, low maintenance and energy saving buildings, with solar energy and water recycling systems. The construction systems correspond to their traditions and the materials used will correspond to what it´s locally available. All buildings share a similar structural scheme since they will be built along with the railway line. Scope: Projects
